A newborn baby has been found wrapped in a manure sack and left in a forested area of Padduvasnuwara, Ugurassagama lake field.
Our correspondent said that a woman who had gone to tie the cattle heard the sound of a child crying and saw the baby.
The baby was taken to the Nikaveratiya hospital by ambulance upon the notification of the villagers.
