Veteran Sinhala singer Nirosha Virajini reflects on 30 years in the music industry, her most memorable songs and what keeps her going.
DM: 30 years is an incredible milestone. What has changed the most?
Nirosha: Everything and nothing. The industry has changed completely - technology, streaming, social media. But the love of music? That never changes.
DM: Which song holds the most special place in your heart?
Nirosha: 'Punchi Manike' will always be special. It was my first big hit and it introduced me to Sri Lanka. Even today people stop me on the street to sing it.
DM: Any advice for young artists?
Nirosha: Be patient. Build your craft. And never compromise your identity for trends. Your uniqueness is your biggest asset.
