Born in 1992 in Gampaha, Sandun Perera showed an early passion for music, learning guitar at age 10. He moved to Colombo at 18 to pursue a career in music against his family's wishes.
His debut single in 2016 gained moderate attention, but it was 'Arabi Kumari' in 2024 that truly launched him into stardom. The song crossed 450,000 downloads on Desawana Music alone and topped the Sinhala charts for 8 consecutive weeks.
Known for his distinctive 'Urban Sinhala' style - blending pop production with authentic Sinhala lyrics - Sandun has released 3 albums and 15+ singles. His music speaks to the youth of Sri Lanka who want modern sounds without losing their cultural roots.
In 2025, he signed with Gold Records Sri Lanka and announced his fourth album 'Arabi', scheduled for release in June 2025.
