Colombo-based Sinhala rap group Spade Squad has signed a major recording contract with Gold Records Sri Lanka, one of the country's largest independent music labels.
The group, known for their hit 'Selawena Manasa', rose to fame through social media and streaming platforms. Their unique blend of Sinhala lyrics with trap and hip-hop beats has attracted a young audience across Sri Lanka.
Under the new deal, Spade Squad will release their debut studio album later this year, along with a nationwide tour planned for the second half of 2025.
