According to a complaint regarding the theft of batteries installed in communication towers located in Tangalle, Beliatta, Hakmana,
Ambalantota, Hambantota etc. The police have arrested five suspects in Weerakati.
The police spokesperson stated that the police found 138 batteries and a small lorry, a van and a tricycle used in the thefts.
The arrested suspects are residents of Walasmulla, Hakmana and Tangalla areas, and they are scheduled to be produced in court today (18).
