Yesterday at around 11 pm, the driver of a tipper truck overturned in Danduru Oya in Kiridigalle area, Ibbagamuwa, and the driver of that vehicle died.
The police suspect that the accident occurred due to the fact that the driver fell asleep while carrying black stones from Ridigama towards Gokarella.
The person who died in the accident was a resident of Matale area. The Kiridigalle Bridge was also damaged in the accident and the Maduragoda Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
