Increasing postal rates

The postal department said that the postal fee for an ordinary letter, which is Rs. 15, will be increased to Rs. 50 and the registered postal fee will be increased from Rs. 30 to Rs. 60.

The postal fee for a letter up to 20 grams has been revised from Rs 12 to Rs 30 on concessional charges for charities and voluntary organizations. 7 conditions have to be fulfilled for this.

The fee for open printed material packets and letter service has been revised from Rs.12 to Rs.30 and the initial fee for registered newspapers and magazines from Rs.10 to Rs.20 and the maximum weight limit has been revised to 1 kg.

Postal has increased the freight charges and the maximum amount of money remitted using a money order from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh, up to 250 grams of weight.
