Occasional rains in the southwestern part of the island

The meteorological department says that it is expected that the rain will decrease gradually from today.

Meanwhile, the department further states that there will be occasional rains in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Also, some places in Sabaragamuwa province, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts may experience heavy rain of more than 50 mm.

The Department of Meteorology has further stated that several rainy seasons may occur in the North, North Central and North West provinces.

The wind speed may increase to 50 km/h from time to time in the western slopes of Central Hills and North, North Central and North Western Provinces.
