A stock of gold biscuits worth nearly 16 crore rupees illegally imported into Sri Lanka has been seized by airport customs officers.
06 kg has been verified as 24-carat gold weighing 995 g. Airport customs stated that 60 gold biscuits had been taken into custody and its value is 157 million rupees.
It is said that the suspect is a 35-year-old resident of the Ja-Ela area. It is reported that an employee of the duty-free shopping complex has also been arrested.
