Temporary import restrictions on 300 types of goods

The Ministry of Finance has decided to temporarily impose import restrictions on more than 300 types of goods with effect from yesterday.

The special gazette in this regard was issued with the signature of President Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Minister of Finance.

These items include certain types of food, cosmetics and many other items.

The host of items included in the list range from chocolate and other food preparations containing cocoa, condensed milk, yogurt, coconuts, Coconut base arrack, roses to perfumes, beauty or make-up preparations, deodorants, dental floss and trunks, suit-cases, brief-cases to various clothing items.
